Pint-sized Picassos

Today, Hannu & Sara were getting bored after some playtime. I said, "How about some painting fun?" :) I got them each a canvas and the kids did an art project in the evening. At first, I have them follow a pattern of vertical lines, But then I just let them decide and they wanted to add them horizontal lines. My only rule was, "Don't smear the colors too much." :) They both did surprisingly well with the paintbrush and the instructions. 

I love it so much I'm commissioning these artists for a few more pieces for our house!

 

One year old!

Happy Birthday Vihaan! You are 1 year old today, but will always be our baby boy, Littlest Garg. You continue to be this wonderful light in our family. You Are Our Sunshine!

Walking is old news for the little guy by now. :) He's steady and actually pretty fast. One of my favorite things about Vihaan is that he comes when he's called. It's awesome. Whenever we call him, he emerges from wherever he is with a smile and walks right towards us.He  can say "mumma", "baa", jiji and "dada". 

There is one more upper dental friend pushing through, making that 7 teeth by his first birthday. We are now introducing whole milk to help strengthen those teeth and bones. We will slowly move him from bottles to sippy cups. Such a big boy!

Vihaan's First BMW

We got Vihaan a toddler car from BMW for his first birthday. More than him, Sara is using it for now :)

The Best Seat in the House

Vihaan has finally discovered how much fun his new chair can be:). He climbs up on it, sits for about a second, and then gets down and does it all over again. He does this every chance he gets!

If I took pictures of him doing this every time, I'd have many pictures for every day! I took these b/c he looked adorable.

Siblings!

For some reason, I thought they looked so similar today and wanted a picture of the two of them together.  oh my heart...LOVE these kids!

Letter to Santa!!!

Sara finished her 'Letter to Santa' this morning, She is getting good at writing words. I was quite fascinated of what all she wants from Santa!! Here's the final letter:

Fun at BJs

 We went to BJs today for regular errands and Vihaan found the liquor aisles the MOST interseting. It was so much fun to see him!!!

New Piggy Bank!

Sara picked up a new piggy bank and was super excited since we got Vihaan's and her name written on it. Vishal gave her $ to put into their piggy banks. Sara was very sweet and gave some of her money to Vihaan "I want him to have it. So he can put it in the piggy bank too." :)

Candy Corn and the Little Pumpkin

Vihaan is wearing a Sara's hand-me-down costume. It was just perfect and fit him nicely. He was toasty warm and sat/run happily all over Rashmi's house. I was very pleased by the pictures Vikas took and was nice enough to email us the same night.

At the Grown-up Table

We went to a great pizza place in Maplewood for lunch today. Instead of hanging out in his carseat on the floor like he usually does, Vihaan joined us at the table. What fun seeing his cute little face up there with us!

What a treat!

Happy Halloween! It's Vihaan's first and he is wearing a nice shirt. He loves the Twirlin' Whirlin'  entertainment table.....when he can get to them b/c his big sis isn't in the way having her own good time on them! :)

Here he is doing his latest thing- walking. Again, I find it remarkable. He'll do this for a crazy amount of time. I find it hysterical to see this little 2' person just standing there looking around. I often ask him if he's waiting for the bus or something. ;p

No tricks here...he's standing alone. What a treat! :)

Laugh out Loud

So do you not agree that this is one happy little boy? And would you say he's just a bit ticklish? And to think that this video was actually the second round of hilarity...I was too busy playing and laughing hysterically myself to take video the first time around. So what you're seeing is actually after about 10 minutes of previous tickles and belly laughs with an intermission spent going downstairs to get the camera. It is pure joy to see this little man enjoying life.

Vihaan's Walk of Life

Yes, he's mobile...and upright. At 10.5 months, we have another walker! After taking his first few steps last week, this week Vihaan has realized that walking can be an efficient means of getting around. Last week he only walked when we encouraged him. Now, he does it on his own. Tonight Vishal filmed him. He doesn't actually make it the whole way b/c he gets distracted (fumble!). But he gets up in the middle (again on his own) and makes it to the "end zone." It's so darn cute!  

Fall in Vermont

This weekend, we went to Vermont to see the awesome fall colors with Matta's & Jain's. We went to a fabulous resort in Okemo ski area - Proctorsville. We all squeezed in Matta's car for the 5 hour road trip. It was an AMAZING weekend. We ate leisurely (we all took so much food) and enjoyed conversations...and even more leisurely breakfasts. The first morning we sat down to breakfast at 7:30 and sat talking and enjoying the views for FOUR uninterrupted hours. It was glorious! The only reason we did get moving (@ 12:30) was that we decided to go see fall colors. The resort was incredible, and the time spent with good friends was truly rejuvenating.

We also went and did cheese-tasting which is always so much fun. Few picts of all of us:

 

Dancing Queen

While the boys are in the car, we girls are "here for Sara's second Bollywood Class!" 

Vihaan's Mundan at Durga Temple

Today, we went to Durga Temple for Vihaan's mundan ceremony.  It was delayed and hence we all were tired but overall it was a beautiful ceremony. Here are a few photos before the ceremony (unfortunately we did not took any pictures during the ceremony)

Back to School Dance

We girls went to Sara's school for "Back To School Dance" night.  It was a fun event and she was so happy. Most of the time, she played with her buddy Niyati. While the girls danced a little bit, boys ran around the gym chasing each other. I will post a video later on.

First Pedicure!

It's much requested "Mommy n Me" timeeee:)))) Sara got her first pedicure done today witrh me. We both loved the pampering.

Pick Your Own

We met up with the Jain's (Bharat & family) at Alstede Farm today.  We picked raspberries and summer apples.  It was SO much fun!

We also saw cows, goats, sheep, and ponies. e-i-e-i-o!

Walking the Stairs

Today Vihaan ascend the stairs. :) This cute bumper made it's way up a few steps today as Vihaan seemed to just notice the stairs and try them out this morning! It was a super cute view, but it also stresses me out a little bit !

I did not had a camera to took that video. However, he did the same at Rashmi's house and we caught a glimpse of it again on my iphone :) (At the end he got disbalanced so will post another video soon)

 

First Day of Kindergarten

This is the first day of Sara's public school.  Still wrapping my mind (and heart!) around that one! 
 

 

Stand in the place where you live

Vihaan's such a cute little sleeper. He wakes up SO happy. Many times he just sits in his crib playing by himself. Sometimes it's quiet...and I don't even realize he's awake. Other times it's accompanied by happy playful squeals as he throws his blanket up, picks up all the pacifiers he can find, scrunches and bats at his crib toy. I love his smile. sweet. sweet. sweet

First Friend Sleepover

After our late night dinner with Gupta's, I asked Viraj if he wants to do a sleepover. And to my surprise he said YES!! It was so much fun when they both woke up and saw each other. They both ate their breakfasts together and din't bother me at all.  They played so well with Vihaan :) 

Takin' A Stand

Vihaan has super strong leg muscles and he loves to stand up. He's been doing this for weeks now and it's pretty remarkable...and this 2 foot tall person is just so darn cute!

Now a days, he can stand holding his crib by himself :)

Indian Fashion Show!

We decided to go to Sidhachalam mandir ji  for our anniversary today. It was a chance for Sara to wear one of the new Indian suits Nani gave her.
