Sara's Hindi Vocabulary

For the past few months, Sara has been expanding her vocabulary in hindi to a great extent. We are noticing that Sara is starting to pick up phrases and actually use them consistently in the correct context.

Here are a few examples:

  1. Ma: “Daddy kaha hai?”
  2. We were outside when a loud plane passes, Sara see's it and says ..."mujhe bhi plane mein india jaana hai".
  3. Talking about her nanu "Nanu to nakhrewala hai..."
  4. She is talking to lovy over phone she asks "Lovy mausi kaisi hooo.....mausa pyaar karta hai....kaise karta hai"
  5. She asks her nani..."mujhe doll chahiye....target se la do...."
I will miss all cutie-ness ....

Special Words

I have been writing down all of the funny phrases Sara says to us. Some of the things that come out of her mouth is priceless. Here are a few of the most recent quotes...

1. "Mummy...sexy sexy"
2. "Daddy to bhaut aalsi hai"
3. After her bath if she is only wearing tee/panty...she'll say .."Mein daddy jaise lagti..."

Amazing

Everyday Sara do things that amaze us and are worth celebrating. We are so thankful to have her in our lives and cherish the time we have with her.  She grow and change daily, we continually are blown away with what she know and can do. She is so much fun to be around - she is so imaginative, caring, nurturing, a risk taker yet cautious, she can count to 20, knows and recognizes all the letters of the alphabet, is beginning to color, loves to create, dance and draw....I can go on and on. She says the funniest things for a 2 year old and melt my heart with her "I luv you mumma".

A New Kitchen

We bought Sara a new kitchen and it's definitely one of her favorite new toys. We made a wise decision and ended up assembling the huge toy in our living room and it's staying right there for now. Given it's the most played with toy right now, it didn't make sense to hide it in the basement. We love watching as she cooks up allu sabzi, chila and French Fries all in one pot! Her imagination is really at work lately!

Sara's 2nd Birthday Party

Sara turned two today and we can't believe it. She is a pure joy to have around and we adore her. She LOVES to read books, to "color paper", to play with mom and dad, to DANCE DANCE DANCE, she likes swimming, likes to play with her friends, and is doing great learning how to use the potty.

In two years, she has taught me patience, how to LAUGH, how to be an example to an impressionable girl,
how to enjoy making a mess!

We love her in all of her two year old glory.

Hot Air Balloon Festival

We went to NJ Hot Air Balloon festival - had a big play date filled with fun. The Jains (Bharat Jain and family) met us there. So many balloons launced....Sara had so much fun watching them.

We hopped on the "ride to festival" bus...b/c parking was quite far from the field and also b/c Sara requested to enjoy the bus ride :p. She also really liked the bunny hat. Vishal got some good shots of her little bunny:

Sweetness

Sara just makes my day everyday. She is so sweet these days, I just wish I could bottle it up and keep some of that sweetness forever. I'm really cherishing it as the terrible-two's are just around the corner. Today morning was especially sweet as Sara was super excited to kiss me on the nose, giggling hysterically with each little kiss. I am in love.

Sara is almost two....

...and I want to capture her world, the beautiful smile and captivating way she enjoys the simple things in life: the park, the backyard, the car, the lipstick she slipped out of my purse.

Sara's a pretty typical 2 year old. She amazes us with the things she knows, makes us laugh hysterically, and can also make us completely crazy! :) Physically she's in constant motion- running, climbing, walking up and down the stairs, tiptoe-ing around, dancing, playing modified versions of just about every sport. She loves to explore and play with us. She's also gotten much better at independent play, which is fantastic! Usually this independent time is spent cooking in her kitchen "cooking allu sabzi" as she says, or "driving her train," or reading and chatting with her baby dolls.

She gives the biggest hugs, the cheesiest smiles, and throws the loudest, most spectacular tantrums! :p She does get easily upset and impatient...and totally annoyed when she doesn't get her way. She's my sweet little girl...but can flip in an INSTANT and become the crazed toddler exerting herself with the forceful use of "NO!" accompanied by jumping, crying, kicking, or pushing...which is then accompanied by time outs and disciplinary chats...which is followed by hugging, apologizing.

Her hindi language is remarkable! She speaks in phrases and in sentences- which is pretty awesome for her age. Many strangers we meet tell us the same thing after they ask how old she is.:)

Weight: 25.1 lbs (75th percentile)
Height: 35 inches (90th percentile)

Central Park

Vishal took a day-off since he was not feeling that great. After Sara's lunch time, he took her & her nanny to Central Park. It was an absolutely beautiful afternoon as Vishal says to visit Central park. Sara played a lot and was absolutely delighted to see the fountains. :) Here are some photos from the day:

Hamptons here we come

We went to Hampton's this weekend with our friends. First we went to the light house. It was just amazing - we walked to the lighthouse. All the kids - Kisna, Nikki & Sara ran and enjoyed the beautiful landscape.

I had never seen such beautiful views! Then in the evening we drove around and then went to a vineyard. It was just perfect sitting there with friends - chit chatting, kids playing on their own and having a great wine.

Jimmy Bhaiya Wedding

We reached India to have fun with all friends & family at Jimmy Bhaiya's wedding. I'm bummed that I didn't get any good pictures of the three of us again :). There was just too much going on and too much fun to be had!

Sara was pampered like anything....from her nanu-nani to amma-baba and all her cousins. She had loads of fun in this trip compared to last time she went. She made everyone run around her with her hilarious and naughty skills.

FEW PICS from this trip

Fun in Hershey's Park

This weekend, we went to Hershey's Park with our friends - Matta's and Nangia's. SO much fun for us ALL! It was Sara's first trip to an amusement park (we figured she's old enough to really enjoy it!).

This little girl LOVED all the rides and was running all afterNikki & Kisna. She was squealing with delight! The kiddie portion of the park was So cool! It had so many rides including a roller coaster, lady bug ride, bizzy bee ride...

Swimming Class

We enrolled Sara at YMCA for a parent-child swimming class for this session. Wednesday night she had her first swimming lesson for this session. She did a great job kicking her feet and blowing bubbles. Her favourite thing to do is chase the ducks around the pool.

With all the splish-splash fun (which included balls, ducks, noodles, and jumping), Sara was one happy little fishie!

St. Martin & Anguilla

Last few days we've been on vacation in St. Martin & Anguilla. This was our first family vacation in 2009. :)

The property was absolutely Perfect with a pool, hot tub, hammock, swings, shady trees, and sand and a kids play area. We didn't even need to load up and walk the short 500 yards to the ocean each morning for Sara to play in the sand.

Later that morning, we went to visit a local market of the island. It was gorgeous. Sara likes to walk by herself. I think it's funny to see this little person just trotting along- crowded streets or not.

After returning back to the resort  we played in the pool. Sara Loved jumping in. At first it freaked me out, but she kept asking "Jump? Jump?" and it was fun catching the little butterball! As she jump in the pool...she'll shout.."dada dekho, dada dekho".

Out of the mouth of Sara

I find I'm enjoying the stage Sara's in a lot more than I thought I would. I'm a not much of baby person- I Love only clean and super cute babies. But Sara's at this stage that can only be described as HILARIOUS at times. I'm documenting some of her cuteness so I don't forget it.
Here's some other cuteness we're hearing lately:

"Birdie, Daddy, Phone...She says these words with Gujrati accent. (learning from her nanny.)

She uses "too" appropriately and often. We'll be driving in the car and I'll say something like, "I see an airplane." and she'll say, "I see Too!" (often emphasizing the "too"). Sometimes she does use the third person and say something like, "Sara ko bhi dikhta hai" She switches back and forth.

"Careful." and it's cute because it's sounds like "Be cayaful" :) She says this when she's doing things like climbing up or down stairs or chair.

"Good job"...She says that a lot too-- "Good job" and there's something about an almost 2-year-old commending your actions that I find Very amusing. :p We were driving in the car and Sara said, "Top sign!" and I said, "Yeah....car rokhegi mummy.." and she replied, "Good job Mummy."

Sara's Always singing these days. Her favorite song is the ABC song, which often leads in to Shahrukh songs. lol

    Sara knows her shapes

It has been a long time since Sara played with her shape-sorter game. Previously, Sara wasn't interested in putting the shapes in the correct holes, but preferred taking the lid off and just putting the blocks in and taking them out. Today, Sara put a few blocks in the correct holes before losing interest and taking off the lid. Afterwards, I asked her what the various shapes were and she correctly said "stah", "quare", "trangle", and "cir." I don't know for how long she's known her shapes, because we haven't pulled out that toy in a long time.
