Disney on Ice Show

This afternoon we went to Prudential Center tosee the "Disney on Ice" show! Vishal's parents stayed home and watched Vihaan for us so we could spend some time with Sara. The show was a lot of fun - it was cold but the place was packed. Since Sara loves Mickey/Minnie lately it was a really fun evening for her.

Sleep Position

This is how Vihaan often sleeps- with his hands held way up high like a marionette puppet. Lovy (my sister) after looking at his pic says he looks like he's directing traffic. It's cute :)

1 month old!

I really cannot believe it's been a month since Vihaan was born! He has spent most of this past month sleeping (yay!). I have felt tired, but not in a bad way. Sure, I've had my moments but honestly this past month has flown by and it has really been wonderful. Life is good.

Update: Vihaan had his 1 month wellness visit on Wednesday, 1/4. We've been feeding Vihaan on demand and that works out to every 2-4 hours. He gets a little upset after his feeding which we need to discuss with his doctor next time.
Weight: 9lbs. 7 oz. (23rd percentile)
Height: 21.5 inches (45th percentile)

Whoa! He's gained 2 pounds in 1 month!!!

That's My Girl...and My Boy

How's It Going?

Many people have asked me "how's it going?" referring to our adjustment to a family of four. I don't want to jinx us, but it's Fantastic! At this point, it is completely manageable and totally fun! First, Vihaan is a really awesome baby- so easy going that he just blends right in our lives and lets us keep on going. Second, Sara is a great big sister and is at a very cool age. Third, Vishal parents are here and handling all the things with Baa. All I've had to do is to heal myself, take care of Vihaan, and play with Sara. It's been Wonderful!
Vishal was home for last two weeks and returned to work today. It feels weird without Vishal. Anyways, our life is good and we are extremely blessed and I'm feeling very grateful. And that's how it's going.

Big Sister Is Watching

Sara has been a terrific helper when it comes to her brother. She gets diapers, burp cloths, and other items we need for Vihaan when we ask her to. She also alerts us to his needs. He was sitting in his swing today and began to cry (note that this may have been because Sara was leaning in too much- you think???). Sara immediately said, "Vihaan wants to get out!" and stood close by to ensure someone was following through with her wishes.

All the kids in Sara's ballet class got a beautiful christmas bracelet from Ms. Jenny. She was so excited and kept showing it to Vihaan - "Vihaan, mera bracelet dekho! Aapko nahi millega. It's for girls"

1 week old

We are completely in love with our little prince. He is a Wonderful baby! I hope I'm not going to jinx us here. It is quite possible that we're still just in the baby honeymoon stage. Even if we are though, it will not change the fact that Vihaan is a blessing. He eats well and has since he was an hour old. At his one week doctor appointment on Wednesday, he weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz and measured 20.5 inches. He sleeps well and has been doing 3-4 hour stretches consistently. If you can describe the "personality" of a one-week-old, he seems to have a very sweet demeanor. He makes these little squeaky noises that sound like a toy that's been squeezed- just a little "eep!" sound.

Our more relaxed approach to parenting this time around may be playing a factor, but it is also entirely truthful to say that he is just a good boy. Our family has definitely been blessed with him.
