And he's off

We first noticed it in Switzerland when he took about 3-4 "steps". This morning we realized Vihaan just required the proper motivation. He would move to reach to get tv remote, ball or any other thing as long as it's within his line of sight. This is him at Chacha's house having fun with his mausi, mama and sister!!

7 Months old

At 7 months old, he's pretty much doing exactly what his sister was at this time. He's in one of the best stages right now...he sits independently, can crawl and is definitely becoming more and more of a "little person.". He plays (I mean licks) his toys. But at the same time, he wants us to be close. He looks around for us and cries if he notices we're gone for what he deems too long. He still seems to have a slight preference for me. I love it though. It's God's perfect design (and some say reward) forging that mommy-baby bond from carrying and growing your child for almost 9 months and then feeding for another year. :) Someday this little boy will only want to be with his Daddy, but for now he's my baby.

We don't have a wellness doctor visit until 9 months. Suffice to say, Vihaan is a healthy little boy and is growing quite nicely. 

Weekend in Lake Placid!

We spent this weekend at "Whiteface Lodge" in Lake Placid. We've never been before and it was great! It is really beautiful and was only a 5 hour car ride. Vihaan and Sara slept most of the drive. 


We arrived on early Saturday afternoon and soon after check-in went to the pool surrounded by beautiful scenery.

After lunch at the resort, we drove around and took in some of the beautiful scenery.

Sunday morning, we drove to White Mountains - an absolute must see place. It was so so beautiful.

We all find Sara amusing. These days Vihaan shares this sentiment. He seeks her out, often whipping his head around to catch a glimpse of her. He smiles at her all the time and then Belly Laughs often. It is hilarious. I love that he loves her, and that she loves him right back.

6 months old

I can't believe it's been 6 months since Vihaan was born! He continues to be a true light in our lives.He is like a little birdie when it comes to eating solids. He opens his mouth and readily takes whatever is being offered. So far, he's had baby oatmeal, rice cereal, avocado, sweet potato, bananas, pears and apples.
It's hard to tell if Vihaan can actually sit up on his own. He will for a little bit. However, often he falls over b/c he wants to get hold of something lying or b/c he wants to move and pushes his feet to either stand up (if you are sitting behind him) or he slides down in order to roll away. 

Awestruck

Vihaan LOVES Sara. She cracks him up, just by being herself. It's Adorable. I'm cherishing these moments (and documenting them) while they last. :) A sample video of this evening:

Lovin'

You'd think he might be bothered by her sometimes smothering loving, but no- he just squeals and giggles...only encouraging her more. Love these two!

5 months old

Vihaan's definitely becoming more aware of his surroundings. I think Sara is his favorite person...and I'm holding that in my heart as long as I can. :) Often his little face lights up with a big gummy grin and he thumps his legs and lets out a delighted squeal when she sees Sara. He's ticklish and has a cute sense of humor emerging. He is amused by the typical things that infants find funny- peek-a-boo sort of games, goofy sounds, and his always-on-ever-performing big sis! All of these easily elicit squealy little giggles that are so genuine and so sweet!

There isn't a wellness visit until next month so we don't have official stats. Suffice it to say that our "little" 5 month old is growing quite well. :)

Got Milk?

Yes he does, and milk is all he's gotten for the past 4.5 months. That changed today as Vihaan had his first "solid" food...rice cereal. He did really well! As expected, he only had a few bites, but he accepted the spoon pretty quickly and didn't spit too much of the cereal out. Bon Appetit!

The Bunny arrived in our neighborhood for the annual egg hunt. This year's event was so much fun for Sara! I missed the fun b/c I was enjoying surprise baby shower for Vaishali.
